Are you ready to share the Jesse Tree with your family this Christmas? Would you like to have a unique set of ornaments to share with them too? How would you like to lead an ornament exchange?Are you wondering if you could lead one? I did too. It seemed like a big task to take on. I wasn’t sure I had 23 friends I could pull together to make a group. Not to mention, I am not an artist! Being crafty does not come easy to me. The ornament ideas I was seeing online were beautiful and so creative…I was worried I would let the group down.
A bit of encouragement…The Bible says, “He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…Ephesians 3:20, and that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me…Philippians 4:13.” I say these things to my kids to help them be brave when they face new things.
I had a desire to make Christmas about Him. I had a desire to share this with other friends, and make His name known. I needed to be brave, and trust that God would give me what I needed to do this. If He can raise Jesus from the dead, by golly, He can give me an ornament idea. And He did, and He gave one to 23 other girls who were a bit intimidated by the task too.
We are so thankful we did it. Our kids loved the different ornaments, and looked forward to hanging them on the tree. I loved it too because every ornament was like a gift from that friend in the exchange, and what God shared with her through His word and story of the Jesse Tree.
It was so fun to see what God impressed on each friend’s heart.
If God has impressed your heart with this desire, He will help you accomplish it. He will give you all the grace you need to make this opportunity a ministry to other families, and an opportunity to walk hand in hand with Him.
