Saying “YES” to share His Story (The Season of the Ornament Exchange)

This is one of my favorite times of the year.  It is the season where groups come together for the ornament exchange of the Jesse Tree.

I love meeting new leaders, and rekindling the relationship with leaders from years past.  It is humbling to watch new families come together to participate in creating ornaments and committing to share God’s love story to their children.

This time of year makes me nervous too.  In saying “YES” to God to share this ministry of the Jesse Tree IS a big exercise of faith.  Even though this is our sixth year to do this, I can easily get paralyzed with fear and doubt about IF I can do this.

I am just a mom doing the ordinary day to day things.  I wrestle with wanting to stay in my nice, warm comfort zone and living whole-heartedly for God.  I prefer to let someone else do the leading and me to do the following.

But this is why I am able to write to you even at this moment.  This is how I know God is involved and not my own ideas and plans.  God has given me confidence and a passion for THIS…Sharing His Word as a family together, living out my faith with my children, and leading others to the greatest LOVE they will ever receive is something I can’t help but share.

ONLY God could take my mess, my insecurities, my faithlessness and USE it for His glory.  So every year I pray, “Lord, help my unbelief.”  Do what you will through this ministry and make it YOURS.

Each year He sends people our way and I am amazed.  Each year God moves in the hearts of moms just like you and I to say “Yes” to the story of His seed.  His family line.  His redemption.
